We do not publish price ranges, and we would be doing you a disservice if we did. Two bathrooms the same size can differ by tens of thousands depending on what is behind the walls, whether the layout moves, and the finishes you settle on.

What we do instead: come out, look at the actual space, talk through what you want, and put together an itemised quote you can read line by line. That first conversation is free and carries no obligation.

As a rough guide, once we are on site: a bathroom renovation usually runs four to six weeks and a kitchen renovation five to eight weeks. Outdoor work is quicker. A deck or pergola is usually one to three weeks, and a larger alfresco with a roof, lighting and built-ins three to six weeks.

Those are build times only. Design, selections and any permits happen before that clock starts. We give you a realistic date at quote stage rather than an optimistic one, and we tell you early if something moves.

It depends on the job. In Victoria a building permit is generally required for structural work, and a planning permit may also apply depending on which Melbourne council you fall under, your block, and whether the property sits in a heritage overlay.

Straightforward kitchen and bathroom replacements that keep the existing layout often do not need one. Decks and pergolas go either way: small, low structures are frequently exempt, while anything larger, roofed, or close to a boundary usually needs a permit. We work out which category you fall into during the quote and handle the paperwork, so nobody discovers it halfway through.

Outdoor work barely touches the inside of the house at all, so an alfresco, deck or pergola is usually the least disruptive job we do. Either way we are honest about it at quote stage so you can plan around it.

We do, and it is the part of a bathroom we are least willing to rush. Waterproofing is done to the Australian Standard (AS 3740) and inspected before a single tile goes on.

It is invisible once the room is finished, which is exactly why it is the first thing to get skimped on elsewhere. A bathroom that leaks in three years is not a cheap bathroom.
